Lodge and Beach Hut Care Policy
Who this applies to
Anyone using a Carers Centre lodge or beach hut.
Purpose
BCP Carer Support provides lodges and beach huts to give carers the opportunity to take a break from their caring role.
They are shared resources that many carers use throughout the year. We expect everyone using them to treat them with care and respect so they remain safe, clean and available for others.
This policy explains what we expect from people using these facilities and the action we may take if they are left damaged, unsafe or in an unacceptable condition.
Your responsibilities
When using a lodge or beach hut, you must:
- Treat the property, furnishings and equipment with care.
- Follow the rules as set our in your booking confirmation.
- Leave the property clean and tidy when you leave.
- Remove all rubbish and personal belongings.
- Return any keys, fobs or equipment as instructed.
- Tell us as soon as possible if anything is damaged, broken or missing.
We understand that accidents can happen. Reporting problems promptly helps us put things right and minimise disruption for the next carer.
If something is damaged
If anything is damaged, broken or goes missing during your stay, you must let us know before you leave.
This includes:
- Furniture.
- Fixtures and fittings.
- Doors, windows and locks.
- Appliances and equipment.
- Keys and access fobs.
- Outdoor areas and decking.
- Any other item provided as part of your stay.
Where possible, please tell us what happened and when.
Failure to report damage, breakages or missing items may be taken into account when considering future booking requests.
Leaving the property
At the end of your stay, the lodge or beach hut must be left ready for the next carer.
This means it should be:
- Clean and tidy.
- Securely locked.
- Free from excessive rubbish.
- Free from avoidable damage.
- Left with all items, keys and equipment accounted for.
If the property is left in poor condition
If a lodge or beach hut is left damaged, excessively dirty, unsafe, unsecured, or with items missing, we may decline future booking requests from the person who made the booking.
This includes situations where damage, breakages or missing items have not been reported.
Future bookings
Access to our lodges and beach huts depends on users treating them responsibly.
We may refuse future bookings where:
- A property has been damaged.
- Items have been broken or gone missing.
- Damage or breakages have not been reported.
- A property has been left in an unacceptable condition.
- Additional cleaning, repair or replacement costs have been incurred.
Each situation will be considered on its own circumstances. However, carers should be aware that future bookings may be declined where we believe a property has not been used responsibly.
If you disagree with a decision
If you believe a decision has been made in error, you may ask for it to be reviewed.
Requests should be made in writing and explain why you believe the decision should be reconsidered.
